Some love stories are rooted in perfect timing, and Chandler and Grant’s began long before either of them realized it. Their paths first crossed through shared circles at NC State, where Grant already knew Chandler’s brothers through fraternity life before Chandler and Grant officially met.

From the very beginning, their relationship was shaped by familiarity, trust, and deep-rooted connections. That same sense of connection continues to define how they approach life and their wedding planning today.

Thoughtful, intentional, and wonderfully in sync, Chandler and Grant are the kind of couple who value preparation just as much as presence. Their engagement season already reflects that mindset, filled with meaningful conversations, careful planning, and excitement for what lies ahead.

Every detail of their Seabrook Island wedding is being approached with clarity and purpose, allowing them to enjoy the process while building a celebration that truly reflects who they are.

A Meeting in the Heart of Downtown Charleston

We first met in person at the charming Mills House Hotel, tucked just off the historic streets of downtown Charleston. It was the perfect setting for our first conversation together. The city was moving at its usual steady pace just outside, while inside the hotel everything felt calm and welcoming.

Over coffee at Black Door Cafe, we talked through wedding plans, priorities, and the many thoughtful details they’re already putting into place. It was one of those meetings that immediately feels easy. The conversation flowed naturally, and it was clear from the start that Chandler and Grant were approaching their wedding with both excitement and intention.

There’s always something special about these first in-person meetings. They give couples the opportunity to slow down for a moment, talk through the vision for their day, and begin building the trust that makes wedding photography feel effortless later on.

For Chandler and Grant, that sense of ease came naturally. Their connection with each other is steady and genuine, and that same calm energy carried throughout the afternoon.

A Few Portraits Outside the Mills House

Earlier that morning, Chandler had just finished her makeup trial. Even though it was freezing cold by Charleston standards, we decided to step outside for a few quick portraits together to practice their couple poses.

These weren’t meant to be official engagement photos. Instead, it was simply a relaxed opportunity for Chandler and Grant to experience what it feels like to be photographed by me and get comfortable in front of the camera before their wedding day.

Sometimes these unscripted moments turn out to be the most meaningful. With no pressure and no expectations, the focus simply becomes being present together.

From the very first frame, it was clear how naturally Chandler and Grant connect. They move effortlessly, respond instinctively to each other, and share the kind of quiet confidence that translates beautifully on camera. This natural ease made for the most effortless couple poses.

Couple Poses: Practicing a Wedding Day Moment

One of my favorite moments from our time together came when we began talking about one of the couple poses they were especially excited about for their ceremony.

Chandler and Grant shared that they wanted to dip in the aisle after saying “I do,” creating a joyful moment right as they walk back down together. Rather than waiting until the wedding day, they thought it would be fun to practice ahead of time. So we made our way to nearby Washington Square Park to try it out.

There, we walked through the movement step by step, focusing on hand placement, posture, and how to move comfortably together. The goal was simple: make the moment feel natural, elegant, and second nature when the time comes.

It’s a small detail, but it perfectly reflects who Chandler and Grant are as a couple. They approach meaningful moments with thoughtfulness and preparation, making sure they can fully enjoy them when the time arrives.

The practice dip quickly became one of the highlights of our afternoon together, filled with laughter and the excitement of imagining their ceremony day.

Looking Ahead to Seabrook Island

This summer, Chandler and Grant will say their vows at Seabrook Island, turning their wedding into a destination experience for family and friends.

Seabrook offers the kind of setting that naturally invites people to slow down and celebrate together. It allows loved ones to gather not just for a ceremony, but for a full experience centered around connection and shared memories.

With Nicole Woods guiding the planning process, everything is coming together with clarity and care. Chandler and Grant are incredibly organized, putting in the work early so their wedding day can unfold with ease, joy, and presence. Their approach to planning mirrors the way they approach their relationship: thoughtful, steady, and intentional.

The Beginning of a Beautiful Wedding Season

Even though our meeting weekend was brisk and blustery, the energy surrounding Chandler and Grant’s wedding is anything but cold.

Planning is well underway, the vision is clear, and this season of engagement already reflects exactly who they are as a couple. Connected. Grounded. Deeply intentional about the life they are building together.

Spending time with them in Charleston was a reminder that weddings are about so much more than a single day. They are about the stories that lead up to it, the small moments that build anticipation, and the people who make the experience meaningful.

Summer at Seabrook Island can’t come soon enough, and I can’t wait to tell the next chapter of Chandler and Grant’s story.
